A few questions about your Erasmus experience:
Dear student,
at the end of your Erasmus experience at the Department of Education of the University of Bologna we would like to ask you a few questions about your experience:
1) Did you get support from the teachers and the offices? Yes, teachers and the offices replied quickly and where generally able to help me with my questions.
2) Did you have difficulties following the lessons? No, the English that my teachers spoke was pretty good. I had one professor who didn’t speak English and so the course was also available to follow via
zoom, and here, Italian would be translated live into English. So I could also follow this course without a problem.
3) Did you also do an internship? No
4) If you did an internship, was it a positive experience?
5) Did you also attend courses from other Departments? No
6) Was your knowledge of the Italian language sufficient for following the lessons? It has improved during this exchange period? I didn’t follow a language course so my knowledge of Italian only improved
marginally since i wasn’t good at it beforehand. I can however follow some basic conversations and understand a few words
7) Did you make friends with the Italian students and with other Erasmus students?
8) Did you have difficulties finding accommodation? It took me quite a while to find a room, but the SAIS website (that is also linked on the website of the Unibo) eventually enabled me to find a room.
9) How did you feel here in Bologna? You felt welcome? Bologna is quite similar in some things as the city back home where i study (Nijmegen). It’s not too big and the city center is easy to navigate once you knew the way. I really loved Bologna and Italy in general. Also the location of the city is quite central in Italy, so it’s a good place to travel from. As for the people, i made a lot of good friends and my erasmus wouldn’t have been the same if i hadn’t met them and spent so mucht time with them.
10) Would you recommend this experience to other students? Defenitely! It’s hard at first to get to know everything and finding your place, but it is so worth it. You meet new people, perspectives, see so many new things and really experencie the whole culture of the country you stay in. I was a bit anxious to leave my comfortzone but once you do that, you can experience so many good things!
THANK YOU!
