MARIA TERESA

A few questions about your Erasmus experience:

Dear student,

at the end of your Erasmus experience at the Department of Education of the University of Bologna we would like to ask you a few questions about your experience:

1) Did you get support from the teachers and the offices?

As soon as I attended my first classes, the teachers always put themselves in my place as an Erasmus student and helped me with the difficulties I might have such as the language or all the theory that was given. Moreover, most of them always answered my emails and I was able to get the help I needed during my stay.

2) Did you have difficulties following the lessons?

At the beginning yes, since I didn't speak the language and understood only the general words that most resembled Spanish, as time went by. As I listened to the lessons I understood them better and spoke more fluently.

3) Did you also do an internship?

Do not perform

4) If you did an internship, was it a positive experience?

Do not perform

5) Did you also attend courses from other Departments?

I have attended different subjects and some were from other careers, this gave me the opportunity to move more around the city and get to know other areas. In this way I created a different routine to the one I have in Spain since there I attend all the subjects in the same center.

6) Was your knowledge of the Italian language sufficient for following the lessons? It has improved during this exchange period?

Not at first, as I was very lost but as you get used to hearing the language, you walk and learn more. Besides, it is a language similar to Spanish, so it is a plus when it comes to learning.

7) Did you make friends with the Italian students and with other Erasmus students?

Most of the people I have met have been Spaniards on Erasmus, since in the end you get together with people who go from your country for convenience. We all arrive alone and in the end we are all looking for the same thing, but I have also met Italians who have made this experience more enriching and better. Undoubtedly the friendships you make during the erasmus, are friendships that you keep in your heart because you have lived with them unique and incredible experiences.

8) Did you have difficulties finding accommodation?

I found accommodation thanks to a friend who gave me a contact of a landlord, but on my own it was very difficult. If I had to change something it would be that, that the university offers apartments or residences for erasmus students to stay in because it is very difficult to find an apartment in this city but once you have it, it is the best city.

9) How did you feel here in Bologna? You felt welcome?

Bologna was the first city where I went to live alone and without a doubt it couldn't have been better. I have felt at home, and it has been a home during all this time. It has been a luck to be able to live this experience there since it has given me everything, and it will be my favorite place for the rest of my life.

10) Would you recommend this experience to other students?

Yes and yes, although it is dizzying to go on erasmus is the best experience you can have, not only you get enriched with another culture and language but you learn a lot and you have a great personal growth in a very short time. If there is one thing I would say to the next erasmus students, it is that time goes by very fast and that they should make the most of it because it is a unique and unrepeatable experience.
