The Centre promotes research (basic, field and action-research) into issues related to learning processes in complex organisations, with a particular focus on lifelong learning and its interconnections with the labour market; certification of adult skills (acquired at university, on the job and in informal contexts); lifelong / lifedeep learning and empowerment processes, with specific attention to gender differences. The centre works in synergy with other universities, research groups, national and international organisations in order to consolidate interdisciplinary networks and collaborations between scholars and experts in different sectors of lifelong learning. The centre also aims to support adult lerners who wish to "learn to learn" effectively and permanently during different periods of life.
