 Description:

 On the basis of the assumption that the competence and professionalism of teachers are key-issues in order to guarantee a high quality in education (SDG  #4), the aim of the ECALFOR project is to align itself with the strategic needs of the higher education in Latin America and the Caribbean (ALeC) for the training of school teachers (primary and secondary schools). Therefore it intends to improve the pedagogical-disciplinary training of the teachers in the region and it does so by implementing quality assurance processes and tools in higher education programs. Also by advancing in the international comparison and homologation of its qualifications.

 The goals of the ECALFOR project are:

1) Make a diagnosis on the quality of the training of compulsory teachers in the different higher education institutions in ALeC.

2) Design, apply and / or improve quality assurance systems and protocols for university qualifications for primary and secondary school teachers.

3) Adapt or apply quality assurance protocols for teacher training diplomas in IES in ALeC.

4) Exchange good training practices, developing capacities and synergies between the countries involved and energizing the internationalization of higher education for school teachers.

 In this project, the UNIBO project team participates in the elaboration, development and management of ECALFOR, but her role is strategic in the design and development of the quality plan (WP5) and dissemination (WP6).
